KJENA : Arizona Tea Review

Okay so I’ve seen this drink all over my feed everywhere! And I was itching for a try because the can looked so pretty! Saw it in the budget mart down my house and got it for about SGD3++. It’s a really big can, A+ for quantity and a C- for quality. This drink tasted like diluted Yeo’s Lemon Tea, to put it simply. I would buy this drink again, not because of its taste but for its appearance because hell it really looks gorgeous and you can act like a tumblr person. No green tea taste, no ginseng taste.

My father bought Arizona’s Sweet Tea and I didn’t notice it until weeks later when my mother told me it wasn’t beer it was tea….. The sweet tea tastes much better than the Green Tea With Ginseng. It tasted like black tea with lots of sugar. I also tried another flavour which was Fruit Punch, tasted like antibiotic medicine with diluted Christmas’ candy canes water.

Honestly cannot praise the taste of their tea but the appearance and quantity is 100/100.

KJENA : One Ice Cafe (Jcube) review

I had this long long time ago so forgive me if I can’t remember what I ate… I went to One Ice Cafe with my Malay friend because I was craving badly for Bingsu and One Ice was the nearest and cheapest. I heard many reviews from my friends and online that it wasn’t bad, so why not give it a try? As compared to other Korean Bingsu stores which sells bingsu for over $10, One Ice offers a cheaper option of $6.80 for a bowl of Patbingsu. I didn’t really have high expectations because it was a rather small place and it just didn’t look appealing to me. I would praise them for the quantity of the food but not much on the quality. Their ice was tasteless and more rough as compared to those that costs more, and the ingredient they used were also pretty basic. But their red bean was yummy and sweet just the way I like it and they had an ice cream on top of their bingsu!

As you can see their ice is just plain water in flaked solid form…quite tasteless even with the condensed milk. Ordered for no cornflakes because cornflakes with bingsu is disgusting.

Overall, I would not eat this Bingsu again although it wasn’t terrible. I have yet to try the other flavours but my friend didn’t finish her Oreo Bingsu because it was too sweet! Y’all can try it and taste it for yourself because we have different tastebuds (I go for heavy strong taste) and it might taste different to you guys. And it’s cheap!

KJENA : Oma Spoon/Nunsaram review

About a few weeks ago my friend and I went to Oma Spoon at Orchard and tried their bingsu! It was my first time and I immediately knew I had to get the Injeolmi Bingsu ($12.90) because I LOVE RICECAKES!! It consisted of milky ice flakes, almond flakes, a small cup of diluted (yucks) condensed milk and rice cakes with soybean powder (also known as Injeolmi). It was the first ever Injeolmi Bingsu in my life and i was lucky that it was from Oma Spoon! Although the diluted condensed milk turned me off a little, but the flavorful ice flakes and chewy rice cakes made up for it! Their snowflakes were so soft and fluffy I really just GAHSGHAJAKALAHDGSHAHAJSGS¡¡¡  The soybean powder wasn’t too sweet or too bland as compared to the one I had at Nunsaram. Time for pictures :

I dropped a rice cake on the tray…¡-¡ I actually ordered for no almond but they still gave it to me anyways:/ thankfully I’m not allergic to almonds, I just dislike those nuts. They need to be more thoughtful and alert with the customer’s order, if the customer was allergic to almonds then they would have to waste a big bowl of $12.90 ice…

As for Nunsaram, their soybean powder tasted really bland, they could have added some powdered sugar into the soybean powder. I know what plain soybean powder taste like, so I think powdered sugar would really enhance the taste of their bingsu. Nunsaram’s Injeolmi Bingsu was also for SGD12.90(I think), and made by real Koreans(but I guess that didn’t change anything). Having tasted Oma Spoon’s Injeolmi Bingsu before, Nunsaram was pretty much a disappointment. Their ice are fluffy and light too, but the taste of the toppings were….maybe a 2/10? The three big rice cakes topped on the middle were too big and rubbery, it also tasted slight too floury, which was very unpleasant. The soybean powder was also not fragrant and almost  tasteless, AND THEY WERE SO STINGY WITH MY FAVOURITE SOYBEAN POWDER<\3 With the pictures you can clearly see how thin the layer of soybean powder was…. :

What I liked about Nunsaram was that they were careful with my order and didn’t put any almond on my bingsu:) Their condensed milk was also very condensed unlike Oma Spoon’s (pathetic) diluted milk…

In conclusion, I still haven’t found a Bingsu that satisfies me yet, so the search continues!
